Governors' Forum: More governors support Amaechi

President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi is now coming deeper as pro-Jonathan team failed to unseat Amaechi as the Chairman of Governors' Forum.
Investigation by lekebiz324's blogspot revealed that all efforts by the pres
ident Jonathan's loyalists in the governor forum to replace the Amaechi proved abortive as their last Wednesday governor's meeting ended in deadlock.

River State governor had been in a loggerhead with Jonathan following a rumour that some leaders of PDP are rooting for Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State and Amaechi's 2015 Presidential ticket which Amaechi is expected to be the running mate.

Already, Lamido had denied nursing any ambition of contesting the presidential ticket under PDP with the incumbent President.

It was gathered that governors who are pro-Amaechi insisted that the River State governor remained their leader in the forum.

Apart from securing the support of some governors who are majorly Northern State governors, Amaechi was able to get the backing of governors under the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, [ACN], Labour Party [LP], Congress for Political Change [CPC] and APGA.

Names of the governors who are pro-Amaechi were Sule Lamido(Jigawa);Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso( Kano); Aliyu Babangida( Niger); Murtala Nyako (Adamawa); Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa); Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo);Adams Oshiomhole (Edo ); Babatunde Fashola (Lagos );Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti); Rauf Aregbesola (Osun); Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun);Kassim Shettima (Borno);

Ibrahim Gaidam (Yobe); Rochas Okorocha (Imo); Abdulfatahi Ahmed (Kwara); Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers); and Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo).

Against him are: Godswill Akpabio(Akwa Ibom);Henry Seriake-Dickson (Bayelsa); and Ibrahim Shema (Katsina), while others governors' stand is yet to be cleared.

However, Jonathan's efforts to get the support of the Governors' Forum may have been dashed as it was gathered furthered that some few governors including Governor Mimiko [Ondo] and Aliyu Babangida [Niger] are secretly financing the pro-Amaechi group.

Those  governors who are yet to make their stands were Abdulazeez Yari (Zamfara); Isa Yuguda(Bauchi); Saidu Dakingari (Kebbi) Ramalan Yero (Kaduna); Idris Wada (Kogi); Jonah Jang(Plateau); Gabriel Suswam(Benue); Peter Obi(Anambra); Theodore Orji (Abia); Martin Elechi(Ebonyi); Liyel Imoke(Cross River); Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta); Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto) Garba Umar (Taraba); Sullivan Chime ( Enugu ); Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe).
