How INEC added over 100,000 names into voters' register-Experts

Two Computer analysis experts, Messer Benson Obe and Sunday Afolayan gave a graphic analysis before Ondo Governorship Election Tribunal yesterday how Ondo Govern
orship Election  was rigged in favour of the Labour Party by INEC.

The witness confirmed that the 2012 voters register used for the poll was compromised by INEC.

He stated that over 100,000 fresh, and strange names were ejected in the 2012 voters register in all the 18 local Government of Ondo state to compromise the 2011 voters register which INEC promise to use for the election. Stronghold of the opposition party ACN, which is Owo local Government had the largest share of inflated voters  of over N17,000 of fresh and strange voters.

Local Government like Okitipupa and Ilaje where labour party support was also considered weak had over N10,000 fresh names ejected in the register. The expert gave further evidence on the result sheet and voters registers used for the election and found out that most figures on the sheets does not tally.

The experts also demonstrated that in many polling units the voters register were not tick for accreditation, yet result were written for the unit. While in some other polling unit voters surpassed those who accredited Also person who did invalid registration without pictures and fingerprint impression were allowed to vote.

It was also confirmed that in some places there were no voters register but result were declared and in other places two voters registers with different figures of accreditation and voting were discovered. Figures on voters register also conflicted with result sheet.

The experts confirmed that the election results and voters registered examined by them were marred with non compliance with electoral acts, irregularity, various malpractices which invalidated the election.

The various irregularity was tabulated in 20 bulky volumes submitted to the Tribunal and admitted in Evidence during trial. Sunday Afolayan whose group of experts detected the inflation of the voter register brought  two Television Projectors to the Court to show through film display in the Tribunal the various names illegally ejected in the voters registers.

The Tribunal had earlier overruled the labour party objection to the demonstration of irregularity that was detected in the electoral Materials.

However when the expert was about to commence his demonstration of the evidence contained in the soft copy of voters register tendered by INEC, the Labour Party, Dr Mimiko and INEC lawyers for a 2nd time objected and urged the Tribunal not to allow ACN to demonstrate the fraud in the voters register before the Tribunal through electronic device.

The Tribunal took argument from all counsels and adjourned the case to Monday for ruling on whether ACN can demonstrate through electronic device during trial of the frauds noticed in the Voters register. ACN is scheduled to call another additional expert evidence in favor of its petition after the Tribunal ruling on monday.

The expert report it was gathered has unsettled INEC and other Respondents in the petition. It was gathered that the Respondents were backing on refusal of the document by the Tribunal. It admission by Tribunal made the cases and defences of the Respondents difficult to pursue.

INEC, it was learnt  was rattled by the revelation of additional fresh strange of over 100,000 in its 2012 voters register when the commission did not conduct fresh voter registration exercise after it released it 2011 voters register.
