9ice Goes Into Politics, Eyes Reps Seat

The Gongo Aso crooner 9ice is set to combine music and politics. That is if he wins the primary election in his yet to be declared party of choice for the House of Representatives election for his Ogbomoso north constituency.

The singer has made this known on several occasions through
social platforms, interview sessions and even at the industry nite he hosted sometime in March this year in celebration of his birthday. The Gongo Aso crooner used the weekly Industy Nite gig to clear the air on various issues on his person and failed marriage. But some have speculated that perhaps 9ice is broke that’s why he’s taking a shot at politics.
This indigenous lyricist born Abolore Akande made his emergence into the music industry in the early 2000s with his sting-like hook on 2shot’s hit track, “Make dem talk”.
He later stormed the industry with his single “Little money” and then the “Gongo Aso” hit album that catapaulted him to fame and financial breakthrough in 2007.
He is credited with creating the path for the acceptability of Afro pop delivered in the local dialects in Nigeria and encouraged the likes of Olamide, Seriki, Jhybo, including new comer Phyno and some other African acts like Sarkodie amongst others.
